Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including perio scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Imaging procedures ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and documenting findings accurately in electronic records .
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Support chairside assisting during various procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and managing infection control standards.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards.
Qualifications
- Valid state NY licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR systems
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient comfort and workflow efficiency.
