Description of Position

CCBC currently partners with six police departments across Southeastern MA to provide regular jail diversion and ride-along services. The Police Ride-Along/Co-Response Supervisor will provide clinical oversight, including case consultation and supervision, to clinicians embedded in these departments who provide mental health and crisis response services to the community. The Supervisor will ensure quality control of documentation by careful review of clinical records and monitor trends for data collection. The Supervisor will serve as the primary point of contact for participating police departments, thereby fostering strong collaborative relationships, addressing operational and training needs, and ensuring alignment with program and grant expectations. This position plays a critical role in strengthening community-based responses to behavioral health crises while promoting client-centered and least-restrictive recommendations for care.

Responsibilities Include
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to CCBC Jail Diversion Co-Response clinicians through regular individual and group supervision, coaching, and professional development.
  • Coordinate program scheduling and ensure coverage for vacations, unplanned absences, and urgent consultations outside of each police department's regular co-response schedule.
  • Provide clinical consultation, case review, and interdisciplinary collaboration with clinicians, law enforcement, hospitals, courts, schools, EMS, and other community partners.
  • Conduct regular meetings with each partnering police department to review program performance, discuss high-utilizer/frequent-contact individuals, identify trends, and strengthen collaborative partnerships.
  • Attend and participate in monthly Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) meetings, coordinate CIT initiatives, and participate in the Annual CCIT training.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to police, fire, EMS, schools, and community partners on behavioral health resources, involuntary commitment statutes (Sections 12, 18, and 35), threat assessment, diversion strategies, and appropriate levels of care.
  • Obtain and maintain Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) certification and provide consultation related to school threat assessment when appropriate.
  • Attend local Bristol and Plymouth HUB meetings and other community collaborative meetings as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with specialty courts (e.g., Mental Health Court, Recovery Court), probation, and other criminal justice partners to support diversion initiatives.
  • Expand awareness of the Jail Diversion Co-Response Program through community outreach, relationship-building, ride-alongs, education, and technical assistance to agencies and police departments, including those not currently receiving Jail Diversion funding.
  • Develop, expand, and maintain a comprehensive network of behavioral health, housing, substance use, and community resources to improve access to care and reduce service gaps.
  • Identify recurring system barriers and service gaps and lead efforts to develop innovative referral pathways, community partnerships, and program initiatives to improve behavioral health crisis response.
  • Convene and facilitate multidisciplinary case review meetings and post-critical incident debriefings to improve coordination, support staff, identify lessons learned, and enhance system-wide response practices.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement emerging best practices in jail diversion, behavioral health crisis response, and co-response programming to improve outcomes and strengthen community partnerships.
  • Assist with community outreach and engagement efforts as needed.
  • Complete required program documentation, forms, data collection, and mandated reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain effective communication, collaboration, and consultation with co-workers, supervisors, and community partners.
  • Attend required meetings, supervision, trainings, and professional development activities as assigned.
  • Practice within all applicable ethical, legal, regulatory, and agency standards, seeking consultation whenever appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be independently licensed as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
