Our expanding network includes licensed outpatient mental health and substance use clinics, award-winning supportive housing programs, HIV and hepatitis prevention services, care coordination, and a wide range of youth development and child welfare initiatives.
Position Summary
The Afterschool Program Director serves as the on-site leader, responsible for daily program operations, staff supervision, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality enrichment and academic support activities aligned with 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) goals. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to maintain effective communication among school administrators, program staff, parents, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Implementation
- Oversee day-to-day operation of the 21CCLC afterschool program site.
- Ensure the program aligns with the approved grant plan, goals, and performance measures.
- Maintain daily schedules, class rosters, and accurate attendance records in accordance with 21CCLC and DOE guidelines.
- Support implementation of academic enrichment, SEL, and recreational activities that promote youth development.
- Coordinate with school-day staff and administration to align afterschool programming with school priorities.
Staff Supervision & Support
- Recruit, train, and supervise afterschool staff, including instructors, group leaders, and assistants.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review expectations, share updates, and provide coaching and feedback.
- Monitor classroom management, lesson quality, and student engagement.
- Support staff with lesson planning and classroom setup as needed.
Student & Family Engagement
- Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Communicate regularly with families to share program updates, upcoming events, and student progress.
- Organize family engagement events and community showcases to highlight student achievements.
- Manage student behavior in alignment with program and school policies.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure program operates in compliance with 21CCLC, DOE, and agency policies.
- Submit daily attendance, incident reports, supply requests, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
- Assist with data collection and evaluation to measure program outcomes and inform continuous improvement.
- Participate in site visits, audits, and staff trainings.
Partnerships & Collaboration
- Serve as liaison between the program, school, and community partners.
- Coordinate special events, guest workshops, and field trips.
- Build and maintain relationships that enhance student learning and community engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, or related field preferred (Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience considered).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in an educational or afterschool setting.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with 21CCLC reporting systems, DOE guidelines, and SEL frameworks preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification a plus.

Salary
$60,000 – $62,000
