Teacher

VA Kids Center currently has an opening for Full TimeTeacher in our Early Childhood classroom (2-2 1/2 yr old).

VAKC is a Montessori preschool in the center of Madison on the VA Hospital campus serving VA Hospital and Madison area federal employees AND community families from our surrounding neighborhoods.

In the role of Teacher, you will provide nurturing and stimulating care using the Montessori method (on the job training is provided). We are dedicated to creating an environment that fosters each child’s individual social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through play-based, child-centered, emergent learning. We strive to create a fun work environment that is welcoming for all as part of a strong supportive team of educators that encourages collaboration and professional development to support a rewarding career in early childhood education.

To join our team, we ask that you meet Wisconsin’s state licensing requirements for group child care. At a minimum all of the following are required to:

• be at least 18 years of age and have completed high school or its equivalent,
• have completed approved coursework or training to be a certified assistant teacher according to DCF licensing, and
• must be willing to get a WI Registry certificate.

Preferred applicants will have a Registry level of lead teacher, and hold a Montessori certificate and/or have worked in a Montessori setting. Montessori training and experience is preferred but not required. On-the-job Montessori training will be provided.
