What are the responsibilities and job description for the LIHEAP Intake Specialist/Phone Operator position at Community Contacts, Inc.?
Community Contacts Inc. is a non-profit agency that is the local administering agency for LIHEAP for Kane and DeKalb counties- LIHEAP stands for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. We assist income-eligible individuals and families with their energy related utility bills.
Duties
- Conduct personal interviews with individuals seeking information or assistance with energy-related concerns in the Elgin LIHEAP office.
- Data Entry
- Complete LIHEAP and Weatherization applications.
- Answering Liheap phone calls and responding to emails.
Requirements
- General knowledge of basic office equipment.
- Organizational skills with the ability to work under time pressures and a busy work schedule.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Fluent Spanish speaking ability preferred, but not required.

- On Site only (no remote work option)
- Regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm)
