What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Maintenance Facilities Worker position at Community Connections?
POSITION SUMMARY
The General Maintenance Facilities Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, painting, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
PAY RANGE
$25 - $35 / hr depending on experience
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
· Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
· Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly.
· Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
· Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
· Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, minor plumbing, minor electrical, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
· Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
· Ensures safety standards are followed throughout facility.
· Applies, or assists with application, for required environmental permits.
· Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
· Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
· Moves furniture and equipment from one area to another.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· High School degree or equivalent required
· 2 years direct experience in Maintenance or Facilities support
· Working knowledge of operating standard office equipment
· Knowledge of general carpentry and repairs
· Ability to use hand tools and power tools
· Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
· Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with all levels of colleagues, clients, and external contacts
· Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
