Community Connections Inc. is seeking a compassionate and motivated Employment Specialist to join our team in the South Yarmouth community. In this role, you will work directly with adults with disabilities to help them build job skills, explore career opportunities, and successfully secure and maintain meaningful employment. You will provide hands-on support including career planning, job search assistance, interview preparation, transportation, and on-the-job coaching.
This position also involves building relationships with local businesses to create employment opportunities and helping individuals with disabilities develop the confidence and independence needed to succeed in the workplace. What You'll Do as an Employment Specialist:
- Create and implement employment plans
- Place individuals in community based jobs that are consistent with their employment service goal
- Maintain relationships with community businesses to secure employment opportunities for individuals we serve
- Provide supervision and job support
- Document individuals' progress toward employment plan objectives and keep up-to-date case records
- Develop and expand opportunities for community integration to address the employment, social, and recreational interests of the individuals we serve
What You'll Need as an Employment Specialist:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Bachelor's Degree in human service or business field preferred
- 1 year's experience and/or training working with individuals with disabilities
- Valid driver's license, access to a motor vehicle, and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Strong computer and word processing skills
