What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Evening Trash Collector position at Community Concierge Services?
A brand-new apartment community in Canton is opening - and we need one reliable person to own this route from day one.
As a Neighborhood Porter with Community Concierge Services, you'll be the first porter this community ever has. You'll build the route, get to know the residents as they move in, and grow with the property. As occupancy increases, so does your workload - and your pay increases right along with it.
This is a ground-floor opportunity to lock in a route early, establish yourself, and earn more over time without competing for the position later.
What Your Evenings Look Like
- Sunday: Start at 6:00 PM, typically finished within 1 hour | $40 per shift
- Monday-Thursday: Start at 7:00 PM, typically finished within 30 minutes | $20 per shift
- Collect bagged trash and recycling from each resident's door along your route
- Load collected waste into your truck and transport to the onsite compactor or bins
- Routes involve stairs, outdoor walking, and carrying bags up to 50 lbs
During lease-up, shifts are short and the community is still filling up. That means you're building familiarity with the property while the workload is light - so by the time the community is fully occupied, you know every building, every door, and every shortcut.
What You Earn
- $120 per week at current occupancy - increasing as the community fills
- $40 per shift on Sundays
- $20 per shift Monday through Thursday
- Paid training so you're confident before your first solo route
- Paid holidays
- Advancement opportunities - many of our area managers and route supervisors started as porters
Your pay scales with the community. As more residents move in and your route grows, your compensation grows to match. Getting in now means you're first in line for the higher-paying version of this same route.
What You Need
- A pickup truck with an open bed - your truck is essential to the job and your most important tool
- A smartphone with a data plan for route communication and service confirmation
- The ability to carry up to 50 lbs without assistance
- Reliable availability Sunday through Thursday evenings on a consistent weekly schedule
Who Does Well in This Role
Our porters who stay and advance tend to share a few things in common:
- They like working independently and take pride in doing a job right
- They treat their route like their own - residents know them by name
- They're looking for steady, predictable evening income they can count on week after week
- They're physically active and prefer being outside over sitting behind a screen
If that sounds like you, we'd like to talk.
