Position Overview:
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Pharmacology with the associated lab. This course provides students with essential knowledge in pharmacology, focusing on practical applications and real-world relevance.

Course Details:

• Course Name: Pharmacology Lecture (PEM 126C) and associated Integration Lab II (PEM162C)
• Credits: Pharmacology- 3 Credits, Integration Lab II-2 Credits
• Lecture Hours: 3 Hours Weekly
• Lab/Practicum Hours: 4 Hours Weekly
• Schedule: Thursdays 8a-11a Lecture, Thursdays 2pm-6pm
• Location: NHTI Campus, Concord, NH

Course Description:

Pharmacology- Covering pharmacologic theory and practice as it relates to paramedicine. Includes cardiovascular, respiratory, analgesic, gastrointestinal, antibiotic, and CNS medications.

Integration Lab II- Formative, scenario-driven course designed to develop team leadership skills and clinical decision-making. Emphasis will be placed on paramedic assessment, diagnostic skills, and treatment aims/outcomes. Students will draw from the knowledge and interventions learned in Advanced Cardiology, Medical Emergencies, Advanced Trauma, and Pharmacology courses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
• Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
• Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Maintain courses on the college’s learning management system (LMS), keeping in compliance with ADA Title II, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
• Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Minimum of associate degree (bachelor’s or higher preferred) from a recognized college or university with a major study in nursing, health, education, emergency medicine, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience as a paramedic, nurse, or advanced medical provider (APRN, PA, MD/OD). Current employment as a medical provider (prehospital preferred). Preference given to applicants with experience in emergency medicine and to applicants with experience as an educator (especially paramedic-level).
• License/Certification: Licensure as a paramedic (New Hampshire preferred), nurse, or advanced medical provider (APRN, PA, MD/OD). Paramedic applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, EMS Instructor I certification within 1 year. Preference given to applicants holding American Heart Association Instructor certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS.
• Recommended Work Traits: Knowledge of education and accreditation standards (state and national) and principles, methods, techniques, tools and equipment in subjects being taught. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and as a member of academic department/team. Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality, as appropriate. Ability to exercise professional judgment and proper decision-making. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college. NO flexibility for rotating schedules, must be available for all lecture and laboratory sessions.
• Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.
