In this role, you will inspire the next generation of culinary professionals to cook with intention, respect ingredients, and understand the environmental and social impact of their work in the kitchen.You will be working with a diverse group of students ranging from recent high school graduates to adults embarking on a new career. This is a hands-on teaching position to help students level up their culinary skills for the workforce. The current schedule is M-W, 5:30 pm- 8:30 pm for 12 weeks in the Spring and Fall.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: We're looking for candidates with a culinary degree or equivalent professional training.Experience: 3-5 years of professional kitchen experience with demonstrated commitment to sustainable practices.ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Five years of experience in the hospitality industryPrior teaching or mentoring experiencePassion for sustainable practicesFood Managers CertificationSalary is commensurate with experience.Scope of Work:You will develop and deliver engaging curriculum covering topics such as cooking methods, knife skills, baking and pastry, nutrition, menu planning, and restaurant operations. Your classes will combine hands-on kitchen instruction with theoretical knowledge, ensuring students gain both practical skills and industry understanding. You'll demonstrate cooking techniques, supervise students during food preparation, and provide constructive feedback on their work. Additionally, you'll maintain a safe and sanitary learning environment, manage kitchen inventory and equipment, and stay current with culinary trends and industry standards.
