Position Summary
The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for ensuring inventory and order accuracy while motivating and influencing team members within a designated area of the distribution center during their assigned shift to attain daily performance objectives set by management. The position is flexible and encompasses a variety of functions including stocking, picking and shipping. This position is also responsible for assisting management with training, task delegation and team recognition. This position will operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as "go to" person for operational questions and day-to-day tasks within designated area during assigned shift
- Provide training, as needed, within designated area during assigned shift to ensure tasks comply with company policies and procedures
- Perform inventory controls and maintain high quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
- Utilize RF scanners to complete tasks
- Stocking team will accurately, efficiently, and neatly put in-bound product on the shelves in the appropriate location
- Picking team will accurately, efficiently, and neatly pick product from the shelves to fulfill orders
- Shipping team will accurately, efficiently, and neatly consolidate product and pack out-bound orders to be shipped
- Must complete hazmat and/or forklift training; follow all safety regulations and protocols regarding material handling equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 3 years of experience in Supply Chain is required
- Experience with an auto parts distributor is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to communicate at every level of the distribution center
- Ability to exercise judgement and work independently is required
- Must demonstrate consistency, accuracy and follow-through
- Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Hazmat and/or forklift certification is a plus
- Valid driver's license is required
