Class Description
The Scene Shop staff are responsible for assisting the Technical Directors, designers, and staff in the completion of productions and shop activities including but not limited to: scenic construction, theatrical scenic maintenance, theatrical lighting and equipment maintenance, set-up and breakdown, and the efficient operation of College Theatre performances.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree and one year direct relevant experience in technical theater or related fields (construction, events/AV, film and television) -or- an Associate's degree with three years of similar experience. Professional training in a specialized theatrical skill preferred or completion of Stagecraft class is required. Able to work during peak periods including weekends and evenings and fill in for absences as needed.

- Assist with the building of sets including carpentry: measuring, cutting, construction, and use of power tools.
- Welding under supervision.
- Hanging, cabling, focusing of lights.
- Setup and operation of sound system including soundboard, mics, amps, speaker.
- Designing and constructing props.
- Serve as a technician or crew for events in the facility .
