Class Description
The purpose of this position is to provide holistic case management support to assigned student caseloads in collaboration with academic and student service departments. T his class guides students from initial enrollment through the completion of a credential, helping them set realistic goals towards transfer and/or employment.
Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree required. Four (4) years of work experience as an academic, faculty, or career advisor is required. Experience providing student case management to a diverse group of students in a collegiate setting is required.

- Assist students in exploring their goals, interests, strengths, values, and concerns through positive, intentional advising and coaching strategies.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with assigned students, building a rapport that offers personalized support, empathy, and guidance.
- Provide appropriate referrals to resources to ensure students have the necessaryacademic, career, transfer, financial resources, and support through consultative conversations.
- Offer individualized coaching to students by providing tips and resources to help them navigate the college environment, culture, policies, practices, and technology.
- Contribute to individual, team, and unit goals to ensure students meet academic, career, and transfer benchmarks and milestones.
- Plan and facilitate advisement-related presentations and training to faculty, staff and students.
- Actively engage in academic and career programs at CCBC and in relevant professional associations.
- Maintain compliance with the college's mandatory cybersecurity training and related criteria to engage with students virtually.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance expertise in best practices.
- Represent the department in outreach activities and serve on committees, as assigned.
- Provide service to students on evenings, weekends, and virtual services.
- Serve as the lead advocate for students within their success team, coordinating resources, providing guidance, and fostering a supportive environment to help them achieve their academic, career, and personal goals.
- Cultivate relationships with assigned students and provide holistic case management, tracking students’ progress and developing academic and career plans. Monitor, track, and document students’ progression to desired academic, career, financial, transfer, and social goals from new student orientation through credential completion.
- Provide comprehensive academic, career, and transfer advisement services to assist assigned students in planning and implementing their academic goals.
- Support students in exploring career options to confirm their academic and career goals, guiding them in effectively using career tools and resources. Provide referrals to career services for additional assistance with career exploration, job search strategies, and developing employable skills.
- Track established success benchmarks/metrics and conduct timely reviews and updates to educational plans to accommodate students' evolving goals and needs.
- Implement targeted interventions to students who are not on track or have demonstrated challenges in meeting success benchmarks.
- Collaborate with other staff members and faculty to develop a team-based approach that promotes academic pathways and fosters student success.
- Maintain consistent collaboration with College Transition Advisors, the Office of Financial Aid, Student Retention and Transition Services, the Honors Program, and other college departments to develop proactive retention initiatives/strategies and early identification of intervention for at-risk students.
- Assist students at risk of failing to maintain academic progress in refining academic and career goals and developing strategies for success.
- Conduct timely outreach to assigned students to establish relationships that foster engagement and support retention efforts.
- Assist students in the development of short-term and long-term strategies to support attainment of their goals.
- Facilitate connections to co-curricular supports, including Student Engagement activities and programs, pathway programs, and college-wide events such as career and transfer fairs.
