Class Description

The purpose of this class is to oversee and manage the day to day operation of assigned College division or function.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree and five years of experience working in Advancement Services and/or Donor Relations. Experience with Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge or other fundraising software. Master's degree is preferred. Knowledge of legal codes and ability to interpret IRS rulings as they apply to charitable contributions and fundraising. Must have a valid driver's license in good standing with violation points less than five (5).

Class Specific Essential Duties

  • Provide leadership and supervision of assigned College division or function.
  • Develop and implement goals and objectives in coordination with senior management.
  • Implement strategies related to operation and services.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures to ensure consistency.
  • Supervise, advise, and evaluate assigned staff, as required.
  • Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.
  • Serve as liaison between College departments, vendors, government agencies and/or other external organizations.
  • Manage operating budget for assigned division or function, as required.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  • Oversees the administration of the College's Advancement Services office and provides professional support to the staff and Foundation in implementing financial processes, special events, prospect management, donor recognition, donor stewardship and other related activities, including development research, data base management, donor history and financial reports.
  • Directs staff in the timeliness and accuracy of gift receipts to donors, as well as benchmarks and reports on gift receipting production in accordance with IRS standards.
  • Acts as a liaison to the Foundation by scheduling and planning board meetings, provides notice of meetings to board members and prepares the agenda and accurate of the board. Maintains and updates Foundation by-laws and other various duties as deemed necessary by the Vice President and board chairs.
  • Responsible for tracking of all endowments (scholarships and other) and reports earnings and award status to donors.
  • Supports advancement staff fundraising activities related to major gifts, planned gifts, alumni relations and corporate and foundation philanthropy and participates in the cultivation of gift prospects when appropriate.
  • Facilitates access and provides training on the College's fundraising database (Raiser's Edge) to other members of the College's staff.
  • Develops detailed monthly gift reports of Foundation accounts.
  • Directs and maintains a comprehensive and accurate fundraising data base to include all alumni records and all past and prospective donors.
  • Directs and manages procedures and documentation for gift receipting.
  • Communicates donor wishes and requirements for all fund expenditures.
  • Provides the Vice President and Dean's offices with reports generated from Raiser's Edge regarding donor gifts to specific Foundation accounts.
  • Manages and maintains records and donor contact for all Foundation non-cash (In-kind) gifts to the Foundation. Provides the Executive director and VPBA office with bi-monthly report. Lead and supervise the advancement services team, which includes gift policies, pledge agreements and endowment agreements; gift handling and processing, donor relations and stewardship; and data management and analysis.
  • Collaborate with College Communications in development of the annual report.
  • Provide preparation for the CCBC Foundation's annual audit and act as the primary liaison during the annual audit process.

Permanent Whole Life Insurance: Unum

  • Permanent Whole Life Insurance with Optional Long Term Care rider available through Unum. Available to full-time employees, part-time associates, and adjunct faculty.
  • Spouse and dependent coverage available. Permanent Whole Life Insurance accrues cash value, premiums will not increase, and coverage will not decrease. Permanent Whole Life Insurance is 100% employee paid.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment: The Hartford

Individual or Family Coverage. Employee pays a rate in multiples of $10,000 to a maximum of $300,000.

Long-Term Disability

Plan pays 60% of gross monthly salary after 90 consecutive days of absence. Employee pays 100% of premium.

Supplemental (Retirement Annuities) 403(b) and 457(b)

  • Tax-sheltered annuities – 403(b). Payroll salary reduction authorization is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms. The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBC employees (Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees).
  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.

Tuition Assistance
