Taft College is seeking a pool of qualified candidates with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and staff to provide high quality programs and services for our students. Teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed (as specified in Education Code 8748.25). We are seeking lecturers who have the ability to teach Baseball in our Physical Education Department for inclusion in a pool for the Fall 2026 semester and beyond.
Note: Course(s) for this position will be offered only in-person (on campus) and may include day, and evenings.

Transcripts issued outside the United States of America require a course-by-course analysis with an equivalency statement from a certified transcript evaluation service verifying the degree equivalency to that of an accredited institution within the USA. Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education; OR
- Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy; OR
- Any Bachelor's and Two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment; OR
- An Equivalency Determination may be submitted along with all application materials to be considered for this position if you do not meet the stated minimum qualifications. The Equivalency Determination document may be found here: Request for Equivalency; AND
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Experience performing at a collegiate level
- Experience teaching or coaching baseball at the high school level or above.
- Ability to communicate effectively, exercise initiative, be dependable, poise, and use good judgement.
- $78.86- $92.66 per hour based on experience
