Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Community Care Partners is seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to an adult participant in Short Hills, NJ. DSP to assist client in the mornings and afternoons (approximately. 6:30am-8:30am and 3pm to 7pm) Monday through Friday and 12pm to 4pm on Saturdays. DSP will be trained in Medication Administration and Crisis Management by the Provider.
As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide in-home and community-based support while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life. Behavioral experience is required for this position.

Work Location
The Direct Support Professional will provide one-on-one services in the participant's home and in the community. Support may include daily routines, community activities, social engagement, and other activities based on the participant's individualized service plan.
Essential Duties / Case Specifics
- Provide in-home and community-based support.
- Assist the participant with daily routines and activities.
- Support participation in meaningful community activities and outings.
- Utilize appropriate positive behavior support techniques.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral needs and follow the participant's support plan.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and active participation in daily activities.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Providing supervision and support based on the participant's individualized needs.
- Assisting with daily living activities and routines.
- Accompanying the participant during community activities.
- Encouraging independence and positive engagement.
- Promoting dignity, respect, inclusion, and personal choice.
- Maintaining professional and accurate documentation.
- Communicating important updates as required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be capable of reaching, bending, lifting, and performing light physical tasks as needed.
Experience, License, and Certification Requirements
- Must be proficient in English (reading, writing, and comprehension).
- Behavioral experience is required.
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Must clear all required State/Federal criminal background checks, the Central Registry, and the CARI database.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Applicants may apply without certification but must obtain it before starting services.
