Job Description
Our mission at Community Care Me is to provide peer support services that empower youth in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and complete Peer Connect training to become certified, with annual continuing education requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the core competencies established by the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
- Provide one-on-one peer support services to youth using the Peer Connect curriculum, allowing them to choose their preferred location and setting.
- Travel to various areas across the region to deliver peer support services, including rural areas.
- Link youth with necessary resources, such as referrals and service access, as requested.
- Maintain office hours during scheduled peer support drop-in hours at various office locations.
- Collaborate with the YPSSN team to facilitate workshops and coordinate educational opportunities.
- Document all attempted contact efforts and one-on-one contacts with youth within 24 hours.
- Record all YPSSN activities on the tracking tool, including groups, workshops, and educational events.
- Assist with disseminating youth surveys as requested.
- Participate in agency meetings, including individual and group supervisions.
- Support youth in pursuing their educational and vocational goals, connecting them with MV Liaisons and employment assistance agencies as needed.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Aged 18-26, with lived experience of Severe Emotional Disturbance or Severe Mental Illness.
- Valid State of Maine Driver's license and registered, insured vehicle required.
- Pass background checks, including DMV, CPS, APS, and Criminal checks.
