Responsibilities
- Safely supervise children during the late afternoon hours, ensuring their well-being and engagement in age-appropriate activities
- Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a calm, organized environment conducive to learning and play
- Assist with snack time, bathroom routines, and transition activities to prepare children for departure or evening routines
- Complete end-of-day cleaning, organizing supplies, and preparing materials for the next day’s activities
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress or any concerns that arise during the shift
- Follow all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary, to ensure a secure environment for all children
- Support team members in maintaining compliance with early childhood education standards and licensing requirements
Skills
- Experience working with children in preschool, daycare, or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques
- Ability to manage classroom behavior with patience and positive reinforcement strategies
- Familiarity with safety procedures including first aid and emergency response protocols
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging with parents
- Experience in childcare roles such as babysitting, nannying, or classroom teaching is highly valued
