Community Broadband Networks (CBN) is a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) dedicated to delivering affordable, high-speed internet to underserved communities. As we expand our fiber and fixed wireless infrastructure in Long Island, we are seeking a Fiber Optic Permitting Coordinator to manage applications, approvals, and compliance processes that keep projects moving forward.

Responsibilities
- Experience with electrical and fiberoptic, road, local, building, ROW, site leasing, and rooftop permits required.
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications, right-of-way requests, and pole attachment submissions
- Coordinate with municipalities, DOTs, utility companies, and agencies to secure timely approvals
- Maintain a permitting log to align construction schedules with permit readiness
- Track approval timelines, proactively addressing feedback, revisions, or conditions from permitting agencies
- Ensure all permitting documentation meets compliance and grant funding requirements
- Support field and construction teams by communicating permit conditions, restrictions, and timelines
- Develop and maintain relationships with municipal officials, inspectors, and utility representatives
- Assist with reporting requirements and maintain accurate permitting records for audits and project documentation
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or project coordination (construction, telecom, fiber optic or broadband preferred)
- Strong knowledge of municipal permitting processes, utility coordination, and right-of-way regulations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with agencies and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, or related field preferred
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Ability to work full-time on-site
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for meetings and site visits
