JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
Organize and direct all branch functions with the purpose of achieving profit, growth and customer service objectives as established by Bank policy and set forth by Senior Management.
The manager is accountable for all aspects of performance of the branch, including lending, operations, customer service, business development and personnel administration within the framework of Bank policy and procedure. He/she directs the branch staff in providing services to customers, establishing and clarifying responsibilities and authorities, and establishing objectives in all areas of branch performance. Branch Managers report to the Retail Market Manage who reports to the VP Regional Manager
- Achieve growth in consumer lending by the assigned percentage determined by the Senior Management.
- Achieve overall deposit growth by the assigned percentage determined by the Senior Management.
- Participate in business development initiatives which include creating an environment conducive to sales and cross-sales; joint and individual calls to facilitate growth and customer service; outside community involvement.
- Insurance and Wealth Management referrals consistent with the size of deposit base of branch.
- Achieve satisfactory compliance and audit results (i.e., loan and deposit exception reports)
- Treat every customer with the highest level of professionalism and provide exceptional customer service.
- Completion of all required internal training programs.

- Contacts customers and business, community, and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business.
- Directs activities involving implementation of establishment services and functions including collecting delinquent deposit accounts, authorizing loans, or opening savings accounts.
- Assesses risk of all financial transactions executed by organization personnel.
- Directs, coordinates, and monitors activities to implement institution's policies, procedures, and practices concerning granting or extending lines of credit, real estate loans, and consumer credit loans.
- Compiles and reports financial data as required by organization and government regulations.
- Supervise and participate in all types of Bank credit extension within lending authority to ensure compliance. This includes, but is not limited to, diligent review of credit extension activities for accurate and complete information.
- Talks to customers to resolve account or customer service problems/issues.
- Participates in outside business development initiatives, including developing prospects from current commercial customers, referral leads, and other sources. Directs appropriate referrals to appropriate service partner(s).
- Contacts prospective customers to present information on available services such as deposit accounts, lines-of-credit, financing, cash management, insurance or investment services.
- Determines customers' financial services needs and prepares proposals to sell services.
- Reviews business trends and advises customers regarding expected fluctuations.
- Solicits businesses to participate in consumer credit card program.
- Develops and maintains relationships with customers.
- Develop and maintain an organizational structure, which will ensure the effective utilization of required manpower and accomplish branch growth and profit objectives.
- Develop and motivate branch personnel to ensure management continuity and required performance levels. Assist in development and implementation of staff training and development programs.
- Counsel and guide subordinates in the exercise of their assigned duties to ensure required coordination and proper emphasis of effort.
- Review management control reports on a timely basis and compare to plan of desired performance. This includes, but is not limited to, branch budget development and control.
Other Duties:
- Conduct timely performance appraisals and recommend salary changes.
- Assist in teller training and new accounts.
- Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Community Bank has adopted a 40 hour work week. Some flexibility in hours is necessary based on the location assignments, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and must work at least 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Travel:
Travel for this position is limited to travel for meetings/training or helping other locations with staffing needs.
Required Education and Experience:
Related college degree and 5 years banking/management experience or equivalent. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Thorough knowledge of sound lending practices and their applications with respect to commercial and consumer lending. The management and organization skills necessary to oversee the development of branch activities and personnel. The ability to use sound judgement with respect to credit extension, customer inquiries and personnel matters. The communication skills necessary for effective public correspondence, business development and customer contact. Ability to operate personal computer, telephone, calculator, fax machine and typewriter.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Generally, less than two years of banking or related experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Strong clerical skills, good communication skills and professional appearance are necessary for this position. Proficiency with a computer, adding machine, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment are required. The ability to learn EzTeller, Premier and sales tracking systems.
