We are seeking candidates for an Outpatient Addiction Treatment Counselor for our Extensive Outpatient level of care. This position involves carrying a caseload and facilitating groups each week plus individual sessions with your clients. This position will be located in Iowa City. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the development, coordination, and evaluation of the treatment program.
- Conducts individual, family, and group sessions consistent with treatment plans.
- Provides clients and families with referral resources for the services not provided by this agency or when this agency’s services are not appropriate.
- Maintains timely and accurate documentation reflective of client treatment plans and progress.
Schedule:
- Type: Full-time
- Hours: 40 hours each week
- Monday-8:30a-5
- Tuesday-12p-8:30p
- Wednesday-8:30a-5p
- Thursday-12p-8:30p
- Friday-8:00a-4:30p
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required, preferably in social or behavioral sciences or related field. Candidates with an Associates degree and two years of experience as a substance use or gambling treatment counselor may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Active certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (tCADC or CADC) or International Alcohol and Drug Counselor (IADC) is required.
- Current active status as a licensed practitioner in a counseling-related field (LMFT, LMHC, or LISW) may be accepted in lieu of CADC or IADC.
