Position Goal to Support Mission:
The Career Navigator serves Opportunity youth ages 16-24 that will have access to post-secondary opportunities, high-quality programs to support self-sufficiency and improve quality of life, and other career development opportunities.
Position Summary: The Career Navigator is tasked with the career and education coaching aspect of the YES program. YES, program participants and CAFE clients will be the focus of this position. Providing education guidance for participants that are enrolled in Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Youth Employment System (YES) service via the Efforts to Outcome (ETO) case management system. This position also provides data and systems management for participant outcome tracking in the realm of workforce development and career pathway trainings.
Job Duties:
Essential Functions:
Direct Client Services / Coaching
· Determine appropriate service plans, career development, job readiness skills, life skills and certified training and more.
· Recruiting and enrolling participants into the YES program and WIOA
· Coordinate all aspects of YES services, including all required documentations, administer testing, maintain accuracy, and complete all action planning and enrollment.
· Enroll into YES efforts to Outcomes (ETO) case management databases in a timely and accurate manner and document all client interactions.
· Assist all program participants to access services and make referrals as needed.
· Facilitate employment and group workshops.
· Schedule, organize, and attend mock interviews, and job fairs.
· Assess client’s needs using the 14 core service elements, ETO data entry and retention tracking.
· Coordinate all aspects of YES Services, including reviewing documentation, and securing service approval for all voucher funding and supportive services.
· Submit Yes services contract deliverables and prepare contract status reports and audits with proper documentation.
· Ensure that all participants complete the T.A.B.E. Assessment and HSE enrollments.
· Adaptable to change and quick to learn new programs and projects.
· Provide Direct Client Services / Career Coaching Navigation Services
· Career Navigate participants along the A-B-C model (i.e., any job, better job, and career).
· Assist participants in identifying career interests and declare an industry path (i.e. construction, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, IT, etc.)
· Recruiting may require local travel to evening and weekend events.
· Other duties as assigned.
Data Administration
· Collect all required paperwork, administer all testing, and maintain accurate and complete files.
· Enroll participants into ETO and YES-ETO databases in a timely and accurate manner and document all client interactions.
· Assist with writing and research needed for grant reporting and proposals.
· Strong work ethic, belief in personal accountability.
· Able to meet deadlines of data review CRM reporting system.
· Capable of prioritizing workflow and detail orientation and dual system processing.
· Knowledge of Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database is desired, but willingness to learn.
· Prior experience within the Workforce development or WorkOne Career system is desired, but not required.
· Determine appropriate service plans, coach clients on employment and training issues.
· Assist all program participants with all aspects of their job search.
· Facilitate employment and group workshops.
· Schedule, organize, and attend mock interviews, and job fairs.
· Work with participants to create an Individual Service Strategy (I.S.S.)
· Collect all required paperwork, administer all testing, and maintain accurate and complete files.
· Responsible for end of the month data reports in a timely manner.
Retention Engagement
· Collaborating on the development and implementation of retention strategies to increase program numbers recruiting at special events. This includes in/outbound calls, surveys, meetings, and case management. Coordinate professional in-person and or virtual meetings with clients and/or business. Handling administration center and onboarding for programs and training. Data management is critical to the success of this role.
· Maintaining HSE enrollment along with data collection of completions.
· Responsible for student enrollment to start academic preparation, improve retention and increase academic success KPI, and lead to program completion and employment placement.
· As such, responsibilities include academic advising with students to ensure appropriate course selections to meet the requirements of their program of study; aid in accessing academic and support services to address barrier issues.
· Providing impactful retention; maintaining records on student meetings and recommendations; maintaining student data for grant reporting; attending meetings of the project implementation team; and working closely with Recruitment and Enrollment Management and the Career and Counseling Center to ensure smooth delivery of all grant-related services and activities related to YES program retention.
· Develop new strategies for customer retention activities and recruiting YES clients.
· Respond to customer queries and address concerns in a timely manner.
· Track contracts that expire soon and contact customers for renewals and retention.
· Develop presentations/orientations for clients to prepare for CAFE Academy.
· Multi-tasking various projects and reaching deadlines on time.
· Able to adapt to change and communicate efficiently.
· Proper case management regarding action plans and educational/vocational progress.
· Analyze customer feedback and develop new techniques to ensure customer retention.
· May require local travel for retention purposes, evening and weekend events, job fairs, etc.

· Workforce Development
· Facilitate and lead meetings for TWI. Create meeting agenda and assist in planning and special TWI programming.
· Develop and maintain community partnerships with businesses, educational organizations and community stakeholders that align to current and future projects and initiatives.
Utilize resources and other existing tools; provide information on opportunities and training requirements in Target Occupations (e.g., Target and Demand Occupations).
- Coordinate with local and state workforce agencies, employers, and educational institutions to build pathways into WEX & Apprenticeship programing.
- Foster employer collaboration and encourage employers to provide internship opportunities and serve as mentors
· Collaborate with workforce system contractor to provide employment services, to include assistance with resume writing, interview skills, soft skill development and organize career fairs.
- Provide and submit quarterly performance reports.
- Generate customized labor marker information reports for education institutions, as needed.
- Generate and publish calendar of events/activities along with tracking and reporting monthly activities, as required.
· Presentations • Organize training workshops by utilizing the TWI resources for employment and education, such as the Labor Market and Career Information (LMCI) website. •
· Prepare and conduct presentations to business, education, and community groups to provide insight into business trends, LMCI, expose students to career pathways including apprenticeships.
- Promote Workforce solutions programs and services. • Participate in industry advisory and taskforce committees for target industries gathering business intelligence to identify recruitment challenges, skills set required, and to identify career pathways.
- May provide training and technical assistance to partners to achieve desired outcomes for WFS grants, projects, and initiatives.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
