CARD Head Start is seeking the right person to join our HS team as a Family Advocate for Coweta/Broken Arrow HS. This position provides social services and support to Head Start families. Forming strong relationships with families, providing excellent parent education opportunities, and working with members of the community to strength supports for families are all tasks within the realm of the FA. This position also provides support for the health services and tracking of the HS children, and is responsible for ensuring that required services are provided to each child/family.
Educational requirements/preferences: AA or BS/BA degree in social services, psychology, sociology, social work or a related field, or a credential such as a family development credential, or the OFRC or Family Development certification. If the most successful applicant does not have such education, acquiring that standard will be a requirement, as per the Head Start regulations.
This position is based in Coweta with travel to Broken Arrow weekly; FTE with somewhat variable hours (this position needs to be able to build relationships with the families and this position arranges evening parent meetings). However, this position will be working only 40 hours a week, so obviously not long hours daily. Bilinguals skills are a plus but not required.
