Infant/Toddler Teacher Jamestown

Community Action Region VI is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teacher to provide quality care for infants and toddlers in our Jamestown Early Head Start program. The Infant/Toddler Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of young children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide nurturing and responsive care to infants and toddlers in a group setting.
• Create a safe and stimulating environment that promotes exploration and learning.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children.
• Observe and document children's growth and development and use this information to inform curriculum and individualized plans.
• Build positive relationships with children and families and maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including cleaning and sanitizing toys and equipment.
• Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed, including administering medication and responding to emergencies.
• Work collaboratively with all staff to maintain compliance with all program regulations.
• Adhere to Community Action Code of Ethics and Confidentiality policy.
• All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain CDA that the agency will assist with.
• Ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, and coworkers.
• Dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Preference given to candidates with early childhood experience, education, or CDA.

This position is 40 hours per week with full benefits.
