We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Food Service Worker. This position involves a variety of tasks, including food preparation, cleaning, shopping, delivery, and more. By ensuring the smooth operation of our food service program, you'll play a vital role in supporting CAPSLO's mission and helping individuals and families in need.
Qualifications:
- Has six months food services experience.
- Previous experience making deliveries and driving a van is a plus but not required.
- Has a valid California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Cleans during production and after meal service, including sanitizing equipment, appliances, work surfaces, and areas; washing dishes, pots, and pans; and sweeping and mopping.
- Loads and unloads food transport vehicles with food containers and empty containers.
- Assists with loading/unloading grocery items and may help with purchasing groceries.
- Supports food pre-preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables; mixes and stirs prepared foods.
- Attends food program workshops and participates in career development activities.
- Maintains a cell phone assigned to the food transport vehicle.
- Reports mechanical issues or maintenance needs of the food transport vehicle to the Transportation and Safety Coordinator.
- May maintain the food service vehicle by washing the exterior weekly, cleaning the interior for food spills, and removing trash.
- May assist with meal service setup for classes.
- Demonstrates dedication to the goals and objectives of CAPSLO.
- Adheres to all applicable safety rules and practices, using reasonable precautions to ensure maximum safety for self, coworkers, clients, and children.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
