Position Title: Eligibility Specialist
Program: Early Learning Resource Center
Classification: Non-exempt / Full-Time
Location: 601 S. Queen St. Lancaster, PA 17603
JOB SUMMARY
The Eligibility Specialist is a casework position. The Eligibility Specialist position will determine eligibility and redetermination for the subsidy program and complete personal interviews with parents/caretakers. Updates family case demographic information and eligibility information as established by the Department of Human Services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES
Case Management:
- Determines eligibility and redetermination for subsidized childcare services according to
- DHS and policies using the database
- Maintains alerts and tracking system for data in PELICAN CCW
- Conducts enrollments into the subsidized program, transfer of childcare, or as needed by the parent/caretaker
Collaboration:
- Collaborates with other departments within ELRC and other CAP programs
- Works with coworkers in a respectful, meaningful way to best serve the customers and to develop best practices for workflow and projects
Customer Service:
- Provides information to parent/caretaker and providers on the available funding for childcare services and the eligibility criteria
- Communicates closely with parent/caretaker and providers daily regarding concerns or updates
Continuous Quality & Performance Improvement:
- For ongoing eligibility verifies that all information either remains the same or the updates changes are aligned by OCDEL policies
- Maintains a thorough understanding and ability to interpret DHS policies and regulations
- Maintains complete and accurate files and records
Planning & Organizing:
- Complies with office procedures and expectations to ensure time mandated requirements on work are met
- Maintains a caseload and ensures organization of workflow to meet required deadlines
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma with 2 years of human services experience
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
