- PURPOSE AND SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Preschool Teacher
Supports the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Interacts with and engages parents, recognizing and supporting their role as their children’s primary teachers.
Maintains accurate child records and prepares reports as directed by the Lead Teacher.
Ensures a safe, nurturing, and compliant classroom environment.
Ii. Essential Responsibilities
Plan and implement preschool classroom activities using the approved Head Start curriculum and school readiness goals.
Work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and provide guidance to the Teacher Assistant to support effective classroom operations.
Facilitate positive and constructive adult-child interactions.
Maintain responsibility for classroom environment, lesson planning, documentation, and compliance with Federal, State, and Agency regulations.
Promote and regularly assess each child’s total development, including cognitive, social/emotional, language, and physical development.
Conduct ongoing observations and assessments to support individualized learning.
Interact with and engage parents, encouraging family participation and supporting parents as their child’s primary educator.
Maintain required documentation, records, and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure classroom compliance with all applicable licensing, safety, and program standards.
Pay Range: $17.08
