Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday(Occasional evenings & Weekends for special events)
Status: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

I. Purpose And Summary Of Responsibilities
The Family Advocate supports the Family & Community Partnerships Manager in meeting the recruitment, enrollment, and attendance goals of the Head Start program. This role provides case management and crisis intervention services for families, helping them identify and work toward personal goals while connecting them with appropriate community resources. Family Advocates are also vital to promoting and sustaining parent involvement across all program sites.
Ii. Essential Responsibilities
Completes Strength-Based Assessments with families and provides follow-up services as needed:
Arranges or provides transportation to appointments as needed.
Implements policy and procedures related to head lice, including necessary home visits.
Provides crisis intervention support for families as needed.
Assists with organizing and supporting Parent Groups at each center:
Participates in case management teams, working collaboratively across classroom, center, and management levels:
Maintains family documentation for Education Staff and Managers.
Participates in case conferences, family reviews, and parent-teacher conferences as appropriate.
Completes required documentation and reports as needed.
Records all family interactions in ChildPlus.
Compiles statistics and reports as directed by management.
Assists with phone coverage, office duties, and emergency situations in the absence of the Site Manager.
Serves on at least one external community advisory group in collaboration with a partner agency.
Iii. Marginal Responsibilities
Participates in non-mandatory training and meetings as directed by the Director.
Assists families with transportation needs as appropriate.

- Advocates for families within the community
Arranges or provides transportation to appointments as needed.
Implements policy and procedures related to head lice, including necessary home visits.
Provides crisis intervention support for families as needed.
Assists with organizing and supporting Parent Groups at each center:
- Connects families with parent groups
- Attends monthly meetings (day and evening)
- Supports collaboration between Parent Groups and Policy Council
Participates in case management teams, working collaboratively across classroom, center, and management levels:
- Initiates referrals and coordinates with outside agencies
- Collects and disseminates information to support collaborative decision-making
Maintains family documentation for Education Staff and Managers.
- Administration (35%)
Participates in case conferences, family reviews, and parent-teacher conferences as appropriate.
Completes required documentation and reports as needed.
Records all family interactions in ChildPlus.
Compiles statistics and reports as directed by management.
Assists with phone coverage, office duties, and emergency situations in the absence of the Site Manager.
