What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Worker position at Community Action Agency of South Central Michigan?
PRINICPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides participants with the required USDA food package.*
- Responsible for completing warehouse duties involved in CSFO and TEFAP programs in several counties throughout south central Michigan according to guidelines and policies set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Michigan Department of Education (MDE), and Community Action.*
- Complies with Agency and program’s policies and procedures. Completes annual Civil Rights training required by MDE.
- Exercises quality customer service skills by reporting immediately all participant complains and concerns to supervisor for problem resolution and response to client.*
- Participates in training volunteers and new staff.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with USDA, MDE and Community Action policy.*
- Participates in training as required.
- Maintains a current Forklift license and complies with Agency and program’s safety policies and procedures.
- Complies with federal and local regulations on safe food handling procedures including proper inventory rotation.*
- Assists in accepting deliveries of USDA product and storing properly.
- Participates in inventory control of warehouse as director by supervisor.
- Maintains a clean, safe and organized warehouse facility.
- Assists in organizing and facilitating food distributions at each site.*
- Ensures the safe and efficient transport of product to each distribution.*
- Works with program volunteers and community services workers at distribution sites to service program participants. Participates in clean-up duties at distribution sites.
- Participants in pre-packaging of CSFP/TEFAP commodity packages at warehouse.
- Complies with Agency Mission and Values Statements.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.*
Physical Requirements:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to sit, to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
- Required to stand and walk.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must have the ability to travel in motor vehicle and/or other forms of transportation for hours at a time and have physical mobility to move in and out of motor vehicles. Ability to bend, stoop and twist at waist and squat at knee
Qualifications & Education:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Job requires knowledge normally acquired through a general high school education or equivalent.
Experience: Between six months and one year of warehouse experience preferred.
