Head Start Teacher
Reports to: Site Supervisor Location: Monroe/Conecuh County ELA FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
This position serves as a Teacher for a classroom with a direct focus on children ages 3-5 years of age. The Teacher will work collaboratively with another Teacher(s) to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with a total of 15-17 children mixed in age from 3 years of age to 5 years of age. The Teacher also works with a team of other classroom teachers and family members to implement the Creative Curriculum to achieve outcomes for children of all abilities.
The Teacher also works with a team of other classroom teachers and family members to implement the Creative Curriculum to achieve outcomes for children of all abilities. The Head Start Teacher is responsible for communicating effectively with toddlers, their parents and other staff. The Teacher demonstrates knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL Duties

Meeting all childrens needs
Working with families
Professional growth and collaboration
Promote and model good health and nutrition practices to children and families.
Monitor the health and safety of students while at school.
Use appropriate guidance strategies to help children learn socially acceptable behavior.
Maintain a positive working relationship with students, families, colleagues, and community members.
Actively seek to involve parents and families in the educational process and development of their children.
Maintain the confidentiality of students and families as set forth in the employee handbook and Head Start policies.
Participate in required staff meetings and staff development opportunities.
