What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian FT position at COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY OF OKLAHOMA?
JOB SUMMARY
There is a need to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment in facilities which CAA occupies. The care, cleanliness and upkeep of each work-site is the responsibility of the custodian.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Sweeping, dusting, and dust mopping.
Wet mopping daily in required area of responsibility.
Stripping, waxing, and buffing floors.
Cleaning walls, windows, lavatory fixtures, drinking fountains, furniture, stairs, doors, and other building fixtures.
Maintains lawns, trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
Sets up, rearranges, and/or takes down furniture and equipment as needed.
Responsible for preventive maintenance and care of equipment such as buffers, lawnmowers, weed eaters, etc.
Performs minor building preventive maintenance tasks such as lights, bulbs, filters, paint touch-up, etc.
Performs other Head Start duties as required to accomplish the Head Start mission.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Conduct work in a moderately paced environment. Majority of work centers on building upkeep on outside and yard maintenance to provide a safe, comfortable environment. Upper body strength to lift 85 pounds and carry 100 feet and move heavy loads using material handling equipment. Lower body strength to stand/walk throughout the work day. Climb various ladders somewhat frequently relative to other tasks. Ability to frequently stoop, kneel and reach. Environmental demands include moderate exposure to weather conditions and various cleaning chemicals, including paint.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
Six (6) months to one (1) year custodial experience.
Must be knowledgeable of the use of custodial equipment (buffer, vacuum cleaners, etc.)
Have no physical restrictions that would preclude the performance of assigned duties.
Must meet all applicable requirements established by state and funding sources to include finger printing.
Meet required Work Environment standards.
Ability to work with diverse cultures.
SUPERVISION
Reports to: Assigned Supervisor
Supervises: None assigned
Coordinates with: Head Start Center Director & Staff
Qualifications:
1. Ability to read, write and follow both oral and written instructions.
2. Six (6) months to one (1) year custodial experience.
3. Must be knowledgeable of the use of custodial equipment (buffer, vacuum cleaners etc.)
4. Have no physical restrictions that would preclude the performance of assigned duties.
5. Pass O.S.B.I. background check or fingerprinting if required.
6. Meet required work environment standards.
7. Ability to work with diverse cultures.
