Job Summary : The function of the Nonprofit Management and Accreditation Specialist is to provide direct support to Communities In Schools’ (CIS) local affiliates and State Office in maintaining operations in accordance with National standards for CIS operations. The ARMA Specialist will serve as a liaison to the CIS National office relating to Accreditation and Annual Risk Management Assessment (ARMA) activities and plans, prepares identified sites for accreditation/reaccreditation, conducts Accreditation Verification Reviews for selected local affiliates and oversees the ARMA process for affiliates and the CISGA State Office. This position works closely with all evaluation team members, the programs team and for state accreditation/ARMA, members in administrative, finance, and leadership functions. This employee reports to the director of evaluations.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
Manage Affiliate Accreditation Activities(25%)
- Serve as a primary point of contact between affiliates, state offices, and CIS National Office as well as other Accreditation Coordinators on matters related to the CIS National Accreditation Standards and reviews.
- Maintain the Accreditation Toolbox in the CIS of Georgia Affiliate Resource Center, ensuring that affiliates have access to the most current standards for CIS affiliate operations.
- Maintain a library of templates, resources and instructions that are CIS standard compliant in the accreditation toolbox for use by the network.
- Maintain the Accreditation calendar for the state network and share with staff to ensure support as needed.
- Ensure communication, coordination, and completion of Accreditation Verification Reviews including readiness for accreditation, and verification information
- Communicate accreditation-related issues such as affiliate requests, recommendations, preparedness for formal accreditation review to the director of evaluation and CIS National Office
- Advocate for network needs regarding accreditation, including submitting requests for exemptions as needed.
- Manage system for scheduling reviews, and follow up.
- Coordinate with the Evaluation department members, monitoring accreditation reports for the network and communicating challenges to affiliates and CIS of Georgia support staff for follow-up and technical support.
Manage Annual Risk Management Assessment Activities(30%)
- Serve as a primary point of contact between affiliates, state office, and CIS National Office on matters related to the Annual Risk Assessment.
- Maintain a calendar of ARMA activities to be conducted throughout the year and send out reminders to affiliates of required elements and recommended timelines.
- Review affiliate websites for 990s and audit reports.
- Provide training and technical support in required data and parent consent verifications as needed.
- Review documents and required financial reports for compliance.
- Work with evaluation staff to monitor data entry and data compliance.
- Advocate for network needs regarding accreditation, including submitting requests for exemptions as needed.
- Provide technical support as needed to address challenges and action items in the ARMA reviews.
Manage State Office Accreditation & ARMA Activities(30%)
- Serve as a primary point of contact between state office, subsidiaries and CIS National Office on matters related to the CIS National Accreditation Standards and reviews.
- Ensure communication, coordination, and maintenance of documentation consistent with accreditation across departments within CIS of Georgia.
- Coordinate with subsidiaries and state office departments on maintenance of required documents such as partnership, school district and school agreements.
- Collect and maintain collection of strategic and operations plans and school support plans for subsidiaries annually.
- Conduct annual review of accreditation status, create a timeline of required tasks and elements to be completed and communicate and coordinate with departments on completion and documentation.
- Coordinate with the evaluation department members on annual data and parent consent verifications for subsidiaries.
- Coordinate with the finance department to obtain required budgets and financial reports for state ARMA.
Other (15%)
- Document affiliate support and contact using the Field Service Log
- Work in committees internal and external to CIS of Georgia and attend committee functions as appropriate
- Participate and attend all staff wide events and meetings
- Assist in grant development, writing and management as appropriate
- Compile necessary information to highlight program progress, collect and process required reports, documents and data
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Human Services or related field from an accredited four-year college or university, post baccalaureate education preferred
- Three years of experience in management of an organization, department or business serving populations in need. Executive level non-profit experience preferred
- Strong communication skills including ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of top management, public groups, boards of directors, clients, government officials, and business executives
- Good math skills resulting in the ability to develop, present, and understand information in forms of raw data, charts, graphs, and budgets
- Strong reasoning ability enabling incumbent to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract or concrete variables.
- Ability to approach a problem or challenge in a proactive, collaborative, and proactive manner
- Intermediate ability to operate word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and internet software. Experience with Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer
