What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Operations Manager position at Communication Data Link?
We are looking for a Field Operations Manager to join our team. This is a key position to balancing the customer relationship and the company needs. Overall, you will work to complete projects and drive business initiatives. You will have daily on-hand tasks and management as well as foresight for developing and reaching long-term goals.
Must have:
- Underground utilities experience and knowledge
- Power experience preferred not required
Responsibilities include:
- Direct the activities of all field employees so the company is running as efficiently as possible in order to maximize daily production.
- You will uphold business goals to achieve long-term initiatives.
- Meet customer project deadlines and see the job lifecycle from start to finish.
- Take on-call line rotation, provide live response to customer, dispatch on-call crews, set job up for execution.
- Enforce company policies and procedures and provide disciplinary action when required
- Evaluate and implement ways to improve procedures and maximize production
- Assist all training of field employees in areas in need of improvement. Communicate with the management team about what the company can do to assist the foreman with training.
- Review daily production sheets and assist with final billing
- Troubleshoot operation problems and issues
- Must be able to locate, measure, and mark required site locations using various measuring devices and prints
- Follow and enforce safety requirements ensure that all those on-the-job sites is adhering to all safety requirements at all times.
- Represent the company while working on the jobsite
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Standard Work Week: Monday-Friday; 6am – 4pm; Weekend work may be required with little or no notice; work schedule determined by season, weather, deadlines, and availability of work, on-call rotation
- Environment Conditions: at times will be exposed to various contaminants, like exhausted vapors, gas/diesel fumes, dust; be subjected to noisy conditions; diverse weather conditions, including high heat (over 90°), freezing conditions (below 15°), and all forms of precipitation (high humidity/snow/rain)
- Physical Conditions: Able to frequently move objects weighing in excess of 100lbs for distances greater than fifty feet; remain in a stationary position for several hours; able to move from one location to another around the jobsite; must be able to manipulate various controls on equipment; ability to constantly be able to reposition oneself
