Nursing Staff Scheduler / Central Supply Coordinator

Summersville Healthcare Center,a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for aNursing Staff Scheduler/Central Supply Coordinator to join our team.

PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENT:

The Nursing Scheduler/Central Supply Clerk is responsible to prepare schedules and maintain appropriate staffing levels in the nursing department on a twenty-four-hour basis according to administrative requirements. They are responsible for performing manual and clerical work in receiving and checking shipments from outside of the center and issuing supplies to nursing and other personnel.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares monthly schedules and daily sign-in sheets for nurses and nursing assistants
• Takes call-ins while on duty and finds replacement for staff call offs
• Updates the master schedule with changes on a daily basis
• Maintains a record of absenteeism and point accumulation and reports to the ADNS
• Records all Leaves of Absence, special requests, vacation and holiday requests, and requests for schedule changes
• Obtains appropriate approval for time-off requests, shift trades, and vacation requests
• Attends weekly staffing meetings and reports to the Administrator, ADNS, and the Human Resources Manager, the staffing summaries, open positions, Medicare hours, and hours PPD
• Reviews the daily punch details, compares it to the master schedule, makes any necessary changes, reviews the float reports, and submits the completed detail to the ADNS for payroll
• Works with Payroll Clerk in recording missed time punches
• Revises staffing/scheduling forms as needed
• Maintains a list of employee telephone numbers
• Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly staffing summary reports
• Maintains clerical supplies, equipment, manuals, and meeting minutes for the department of nursing
• Maintains logs of hours worked in the distinct unit and available positions in the department
• Fills requisitions from nursing and other departments for a variety of medical and other supplies; assembles items and delivers on hand truck; obtains signature of person receiving supplies and files requisition forms
• Receives shipments from trucks at shipping and receiving platform; checks items against purchase orders and places them in stock
• Assembles items received in an organized system
• Maintain inventory control. This means having the ability to recognize a great variety of items kept in stock and make accurate count of items received and issued.
• Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
• Excellent organization, computer, and clerical skills
• Must have working knowledge of facility procedures for receiving and issuing supplies
