What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN-DDID position at Communicare, Inc?
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides psychiatric and general nursing services to the DDID population in consultation with psychiatric, general medical and DDID staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Active Registered Nurse License. Two (2) years experience in psychiatric nursing.
SKILL SETS: Adequate communication skills, process verbal and written instructions, dependable, interact effectively with the public and staff, adaptability-able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events, strong sense of commitment.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity necessary for updating files and completing documents. Requires frequent stooping, kneeling and crouching to file records. Hearing and talking is necessary to answer phone and talk with employees and other individuals. Work is light with walking, standing and sitting. Manual dexterity is required to perform work processing and other clerical duties.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
1. Works with psychiatric staff and treatment team to schedule, arrange and facilitate psychiatric services for the DDID population.
2. Consults with treatment team and community partners in the development and implementation of individual specific treatment plans.
3. Reviews and signs treatment plans as indicated.
4. Participates in plan of care meetings, providing input and resource development for medically complex cases.
5. Assists DDID with the CMSP, patient assistance medication programs and accessing samples when necessary.
6. Maintains records and disposes of medications according to Communicare policy.
7. Serves as a liaison and consults with community medical providers and physicians regarding the medical needs of jointly served clients.
8. Coordinates and conducts educational programs for clients and DDID staff.
9. Conducts Medication Administration Training for all staff as outlined by state regulations.
10. Provides injections, tuberculosis skins tests, glucose finger sticks and other injections as indicated and ordered by a physician.
11. Monitors vital signs, weight and other health related areas of need when deemed appropriate.
12. Completes accurate and timely documentation and/or billing related to client services.
13. Participates in agency continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities related to nursing practices and services.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Full-time employees receive 12 days of vacation time and 12 days of sick time accrued throughout their first year of employment. Employees receive 10 holidays per year with two of those being floating holidays that can be used as they need them. We also provide up to four hours of employee appreciation hours per year and a pop-up store to select and item from.
Employee Assistance Counseling services available to all employees with limited dependent benefits. Full-time employees are eligible for up to 10 total visits per calendar year; dependents are eligible for up to 6 visits. Half-time employees are eligible for up to 6 visits; dependents are eligible for 3 visits. PT and PRN employees are eligible for 3 visits; dependents are eligible for 3 visits.
