Quality Control Inspector
Hours: 7:00am – 3:30 pm Monday- Friday.
About the job:
Reporting to the QC Manager, the QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all documentation, raw materials and products meet required specifications. Inspectors will complete required documentation, at required intervals (First Article Inspection, Receiving, In-Process, and Final Inspections), in accordance with quality procedures and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures conformity of incoming materials and products through required certifications, dimensional, and visual inspections.
- Perform In-process and final inspections on production molds, production parts, and fixtures.
- Generate Non-Conformance reports for non-conformities found during inspection process.
- Communicate with vendors and customers when required for product specific information.
- Communicate with internal departments to rectify potential or current quality related issues.
- Perform SAE AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports
- Maintain all applicable inspection documentation through the online database.
- Set up and use precision measuring instruments, CMM (coordinate measuring machine), OGP (optical comparator), and KEYENCE (Image Dimension Measurement System).
- Perform calibration of inspection equipment as required.
- Perform other testing and inspections as needed.
- Inspect products using gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machine, optical comparators, scales, and visual inspection prior to production or shipment.
- Train fellow co-workers as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned
Required:
- United States Citizen or Permanent Resident required
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- Must have 2 years of experience as a quality inspector with dimensional inspection experience for a manufacturing company.
- Familiarity, experience with tools including micrometers, calipers, thickness gages, height gages including utilizing CMM.
- Must have proficient computer skills working with Excel, Word, and other software.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings with some GD&T background.
- Must be able to read blueprints and other technical documents. Detailed product specifications, etc.
- Must have clear English communication skills, both written and verbal.
