We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller (part time) to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting processes. This pivotal role involves overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, while supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. Responsibilities
- Manage all financial and accounting activities including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance and audit preparation.
- Partner with the CEO on strategic financial decisions: capital investments, pricing, and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor project schedules, resource allocation, and contract compliance utilizing construction management software such as Jobtread or similar platform.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, regulatory standards, and internal controls to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Develop and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports that detail variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts.
- Work closely with the sales and project management teams to support contract negotiations by reviewing terms related to budgets, timelines, and scope of work.
- Lead, coach and develop the accounting team of five on best practices, accountability and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in finance or accounting with a strong understanding of project estimating, contracts, and schematics.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Exceptional analytical skills paired with clear communication.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects efficiently.
- Ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
