Job Summary
We here at Commonwealth Turbocharger Solutions are seeking a motivated and dependable Machinist Helper / Apprentice to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn the machining trade while working alongside experienced machinists. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn precision manufacturing techniques.
Responsibilities
- Assist machinists with machine setup and operation.
- Load and unload materials and finished parts.
- Deburr, clean, and inspect machined components.
- Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and housekeeping.
- Learn to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Complete other shop duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic math skills.
- Previous shop, manufacturing, or mechanical experience is a plus but not required.
