Informatics Change Management Lead
Location: Remote (with periodic on-site at VA facilities) | Full-Time | Clearance: VA Eligible
Position Overview
Commonwealth Strategic Solutions is seeking an Informatics Change Management Lead to plan, coordinate, and execute organizational change management (OCM) strategies for clinical informatics initiatives within the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role ensures smooth adoption of new systems, workflows, and interoperability solutions across VHA facilities. The ideal candidate has led change management for large-scale EHR deployments or health IT transformations in federal settings, with particular emphasis on VA’s clinical informatics environment.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute organizational change management strategies for clinical informatics initiatives across VHA facilities

Develop and implement communication plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, and training programs aligned with Agile delivery and clinical safety standards

Assess organizational readiness and develop change impact analyses for new system deployments, workflow changes, and interoperability rollouts

Design and deliver end-user training and adoption programs for clinical and technical audiences

Support stakeholder readiness activities aligned with PI Planning cadences and Agile sprint milestones

Develop transition planning materials, including sustainability plans and knowledge transfer documentation

Monitor adoption metrics and provide feedback loops to program leadership on change effectiveness

Collaborate with clinical, technical, and program management teams to align change activities with delivery timelines
Work Location
Remote with periodic on-site support at VA facilities as required. Candidates in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area are preferred.

Qualifications:Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field

8 years in change management or organizational development roles within healthcare or federal health IT programs

5 years implementing change strategies for clinical informatics systems, EHR transitions, or interoperability projects

Demonstrated expertise with Prosci or similar OCM frameworks (ADKAR model)

Experience developing communication and training programs for both clinical and technical audiences
Strongly Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Organizational Leadership, or Project Management

Direct experience leading change management for VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program, including Go-Live readiness, clinical workflow adoption, and end-user transition support

Prior work within VHA, OHT (Office of Health Technology), OIT (Office of Information and Technology), or VA’s Office of Clinical Informatics (OCI)

Experience supporting change management during dual-EHR operations (VA VistA/CPRS alongside Oracle Health/Cerner Millennium)

Familiarity with interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) and how system transitions impact clinical workflows and data exchange

Experience managing change across geographically distributed VA Medical Centers or VISNs, including multi-site Go-Live coordination

Understanding of VA’s governance structures, clinical safety review processes, and stakeholder landscape

Experience aligning OCM activities with SAFe/Agile delivery cadences, including PI Planning and sprint-level readiness milestones

Familiarity with VA’s training delivery platforms and methods for clinical end-user adoption
Certifications (Required and Preferred)

Required: Prosci Change Management Certification

Preferred: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or SAFe Practitioner

Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
