DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will perform various tasks in the repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment. Your work will involve operating power and hand tools, as well as making minor repairs to equipment to keep items in good working condition. Maintenance tasks will include repairing doors, installing temporary partitions, installing electric circuits and lighting fixtures, and repairing plumbing fixtures. You will repair cooking equipment, perform masonry work, and prepare surfaces for painting. Some of your duties will also include assisting with landscaping duties and making minor repairs to wheelchairs and other assistive equipment. Additionally, you will keep walkways clear and assist in the snow removal process during the winter months.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Able and willing to work in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania
- Any formal training (high school vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical training program) in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
- Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Experience in commercial carpentry
- Experience in the plumbing trade
- Experience working in the electrical trade field
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems
- Experience with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, switch gears, and 3-phase panels
- Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters
- Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC), as it relates to repairs of buildings
- Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings
- Experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings at a long-term care facility
