DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support the County Fiscal Officer and Administrative Staff by managing the posting of revenue and expenditure data within the county's financial system. You will assist in the preparation of essential accounting reports required by management to ensure the effective operation of the program. Additionally, you will help maintain and organize all accounting files for review by the county's independent auditor. Your role will also involve providing technical assistance to service providers in preparing agency invoices and documenting payments from the county. Furthermore, you will prepare audit confirmations for provider agencies, which will be subject to review and approval by the fiscal officer, while also maintaining comprehensive files of budgetary information and accounting records for both revenue and expenditures to facilitate report preparation.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting; or
  • One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
  • Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
