Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor - Bridge Inspection

In this position, you will lead a bridge inspection team and ensure that structures are evaluated safely and accurately across the district. The work you will do supports statewide efforts to maintain safe, dependable infrastructure. As a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor - Bridge Inspection, you will perform the following duties:

• Field Inspections: Conduct inspections of bridge structures and evaluate conditions of components such as beams, decks, bearings, and supports
• Team Leadership: Guide and support inspection staff, assign tasks, and review completed work for accuracy
• Record Management: Maintain inspection documents, forms, photographs, and system data to ensure accurate reporting
• Safety Coordination: Work with internal and external partners to safely access bridges and follow safety procedures
• Equipment Oversight: Manage inspection equipment, ensure proper maintenance, and identify needs for replacements or upgrades

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

• This position is required to meet the qualifications for a bridge inspection team leader as defined by the current National Bridge Inspection Standards.
• This position requires possession of a valid non- commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.
