This opportunity is for an Activities Aide to provide educational and recreational activities in a Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR) Program.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports individuals living in the Community Residential Rehabilitation Services Program by teaching skills that encourage independence and personal growth. The work blends education, daily living guidance, and community participation. As a Therapeutic Activity Aide, you will perform the following duties:

• Skill Instruction: Teach personal hygiene, nutrition, and other daily living skills
• Activity Support: Assist individuals during therapeutic, educational, and recreational activities
• Household Upkeep: Monitor the residence for cleanliness, safety, and general maintenance needs
• Appointment Coordination: Help schedule and coordinate medical visits and other appointments
• Safe Escorting: Guide individuals to programs, community outings, shopping, work, and other activities
• Team Participation: Contribute to meetings, documentation, and progress reporting
  
  

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hour workweek.
• Work hours will vary. This position is shift work including weekends and holidays.
• On occasion, staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands or in the event of an emergency.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Six months as an Aide Trainee; or
• One year of experience working with persons with mental or physical disabilities; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  
  

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  
  

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
• Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
• Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
