This role focuses on providing direct consumer care through structured support and daily assistance. You will help maintain a safe and encouraging environment for individuals receiving treatment. As a Psychiatric Aide, you will perform the following duties:

• Consumer Support: Assist consumers with daily living tasks and help maintain personal care routines
• Condition Monitoring: Observe consumer behavior and report changes to the Registered Nurse
• Mobility Assistance: Support consumer movement, positioning, and safe ambulation
• Activity Supervision: Monitor and escort consumers during programs, leisure activities, and outings
• Emergency Response: Provide appropriate actions during medical or psychiatric emergencies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, with a shift differential of $1.25 per hour, and a 30-minute lunch. This is on rotating schedule including weekends and holidays, as well as overtime as needed. This may change based on operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Six months of experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with mental health or physical illness or disabilities; or
• Certification as a Nurse Aide or Nursing Assistant through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
