• Work Hours:  The position performs duties that are routinely executed seven days per week and will be scheduled to work weekends, evenings, and holidays according to the needs of park operations

The Park Maintenance Supervisor 1 works closely with the Park Managers and Park Maintenance Supervisor 2 in order to plan work, supervise maintenance employees, and provide support for the maintenance program. The PMS1 is expected to set an example for subordinate employees by promoting teamwork, demonstrating proper work methods, and correcting inappropriate or unsafe behavior. Work involves ordering supplies and materials, maintaining an inventory of tools and equipment, and planning and executing projects (i.e., electrical upgrades, landscaping, etc.). Resource management is also a part of the position, and the PMS1 will be expected to engage with the park's efforts to eliminate invasive species, assist with prescribed fires, and obtain and hold a Pesticide Applicator's license to apply pesticides to areas within the park. Other work includes evaluating employee performance, reviewing and approving leave requests, and processing complaints and grievances.Qualifications:

• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience in maintenance or construction activities which included semi-skilled work in the electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical trades and including one year in the operation of small and medium size construction equipment; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Necessary Special Requirement - Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License for the proper class of vehicles operated.
