DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Higher Education Associate 2, you will fulfill a key role with the Bureau of School Leadership and Teacher Quality (BSLTQ) in our work to support the state-wide Standards-Aligned System. Your primary responsibilities will include writing grant proposals and managing grants. Developing grant, technical, and budget proposals with accompanying narratives is essential for securing new opportunities for PDE and our partners, as well as incentivizing innovation. Managing of the technical, financial reporting, selection, and award processes for these grants ensures the continuation of our mission.

You will also have the opportunity to represent BSLTQ at external meetings and conferences, produce studies on education certification preparation programs and related activities in the Commonwealth, liaison with certification licensure and basic skills testing companies, and produce and revises education certification preparation program framework guidelines. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, reporting to the office on Mondays each week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Higher Education Associate 1 in the parenthetical; or
• Four years of professional education experience, including two years in higher education for the Higher Education parenthetical and two years in basic education for the Teacher Education parenthetical and a master's degree; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional education experience including two years in higher education for the Higher Education parenthetical and two years in basic education for the Teacher Education parenthetical..
