THE POSITION

A County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1 with McKean County MH/ID has a chance to make a meaningful impact every day. McKean County Human Services places great emphasis on quality. This person will investigate and assess the quality of services provided to individuals with intellectual disabilities as well as risk management, financial monitoring, and mandatory reporting. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports key quality improvement and oversight efforts within the county. The work strengthens services through planning, review, and coordination. As a County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Quality Plan Development: Create and manage quality management plans that align with statewide strategies
  • Risk Oversight: Lead risk management activities through data collection and coordination of review processes
  • Certified Investigation Work: Complete certified investigations and present findings to appropriate teams
  • Peer Review Participation: Take part in quarterly peer reviews for certified investigations
  • IM4Q Leadership: Guide the Independent Monitoring for Quality initiative, including survey and data organization
  • System Reporting: Use required systems for early intervention reporting and tracking
  • Fiscal Monitoring: Conduct financial monitoring and annual contract reviews
  • Department Support: Assist with additional tasks that help maintain smooth department operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday. Occasional nights and weekends as needed as well as overtime.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
