DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports daily maintenance and repair needs throughout the facility while supervising inmate work crews. The role blends leadership, hands-on work, and safety awareness to ensure that work assignments are completed properly and on schedule. As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman, you will perform the following duties:
- Crew Supervision: Oversee inmate work crews completing maintenance, construction, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks
- Work Assignment: Plan daily schedules, give instructions, and inspect completed tasks for quality and safety
- Equipment Training: Provide guidance on the proper operation and preventive maintenance of machinery and vehicles
- Task Performance: Assist with skilled and semi-skilled work in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical
- Tool Control: Issue and inventory tools and materials and conduct searches to ensure all items are accounted for
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
