Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor - SCI Dallas

The Department of Corrections at SCI Dallas is seeking a highly motivated and skilled electrician who is eager to share their knowledge and help others grow. This role focuses on delivering classroom and on-the-job training and instruction in electrical work to inmates at the facility. Work supports safe, organized, and effective vocational learning. As a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of 53,036 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment used in buildings; or 
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade; or 
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the electrical trade.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
