Construction portfolio consists of projects located within other Commonwealth Agency facilities such as Department of Corrections (Correctional Institutions), Department of Human Services (State Hospital and Center Facilities), Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (Universities), Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (Readiness Center and Veterans' Hospital), Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Flood Control, State Parks), and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Headquarter Building).
Position is home headquartered; daily travel to job sites in the following Capital Area Region counties is required : Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, and York. In addition, you may occasionally be asked to travel to the following counties outside of the Capital Area Region : Berks, Fulton, Lancaster, Lebanon, Northumberland, Perry, and Schuylkill.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position reports to a Project Coordinator and assists in managing capital improvement
projects for Commonwealth Agencies within DGS' Capital Area Region. Duties include coordinating projects to ensure they are in accordance with approved plans, specs, general conditions, laws, regulations, and procedures; conducting job conferences; negotiating and approving change orders up to a specific limit; providing technical guidance and direction to outside professionals and contractors; monitoring project progress to ensure adherence to project schedules; problem-solving; using construction computer software for administrative forms and processes; generating various documents and reports in the IT system; representing the Department in claims / disputes; and ensuring effective and efficient customer care to all client agencies and stakeholders.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
